In 1976, Shahawi Group started its journey by designing and developing residential buildings in Cairo, which led to the formation of the real estate development company Galalah. The groundbreaking development of Ein Resort in 1992 and Ein Bay in 1998 further elevated the company's presence in Ein El Sokhna.
The company expanded its activities to cover cement production by forming the Arabian Cement Company in the same year. In 2005, the company initiated the Palm Islands project in Na'ema Bay in Sharm El Sheikh, marking significant expansion into new business sectors and prompting the formation of the Shahawi Group, which consists of five subsidiaries.
